Funerals ~ Memorials
|
"Oh,
That I had wings like a dove, For then I would fly away and be at rest."
|
Customarily, a lone dove is released at the end of the service, often accompanied by a Scripture reading.
White wings flutter as it ascends to join a threesome of doves released in the distance, representing the Holy Trinity. Once united, the winged angels circle above and begin their journey home.
This visual symbolic release can offer great comfort to grieving family and friends.
